Capcom – Dragon’s Dogma or a new game addiction for Pabs?

My good friend and fellow fwoosher Robert did his best to sell me on a new game today. You see, he got me hooked on these games called Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls — he knows what I’m after in a game. He tried to get me into Skyrim, but to no avail, it did not catch; and then he tried Monster Hunter 3 on the Wii. And while Monster Hunter was along the right lines, Capcom’s game controls killed it for me.

He also knows that most games that aren’t horror or downright go festivals will be shared with my sons. My sons who will master parrying and backstabbing and kicking and all those things you are supposed to learn long before I will.

So today he mails me, strongly recommending Dragon’s Dogma. I then do my thing some googling, wiki-ing, and you-tubing. There is some good stuff in this game and it absolutely plays into what I tend to like in games. Is it the missing link?

For all my love of Demon’s and Dark Souls there is an aspect missing: the interaction with the world. Granted, there is some, but not on the level of Skyrim. I’m missing that balance between overkill and still moving.

My initial reaction to today’s research? It bears a few hours of play, through.
